Should tMR allow .gltf and .usd files? - Nintendo's chosen hero - 01-18-2025 Blender will be dropping support for .dae files soon. https://devtalk.blender.org/t/moving-collada-i-o-to-legacy-status/34621 There's already a thread about allowing .blend files here https://www.vg-resource.com/thread-42797.html, but I want to suggest a couple more file types. gltf is an open format by Kronos Group, just like .dae. https://www.khronos.org/gltf/ Universal Scene Description, or usd, is the new industry standard. https://openusd.org/release/index.html Both can be imported into blender, and many other animation softwares. RE: Should tMR allow .gltf and .usd files? - applecuckoo - 01-18-2025 I should point out - most of the ripping tools I use (BrawlCrate, Switch Toolbox, etc.) don't support glTF. I believe some games already use glTF in their engine, but Collada will still have its place here in the ripping community. Even when it is sunsetted in Blender, there is and will always be the option to just use an older version - pretty much all of my rips don't rely on cutting-edge Blender features or shaders. RE: Should tMR allow .gltf and .usd files? - Nintendo's chosen hero - 01-19-2025 I opened a couple of issues on BrawlCrate requesting glTF and USD exports. https://github.com/soopercool101/BrawlCrate/issues/121 https://github.com/soopercool101/BrawlCrate/issues/122 |
