Hi!! I'm liminally_ill and so happy to be in this community - liminally_ill - 03-03-2025 I have been using this site for a long time and I'm so grateful for the community since a lot of my videos would not be possible without it I decided to join because I struggled so much with a Doom map (Hangar) having black faces in Blender (I debugged it for like one hour) so I want to post the solution. I have to wait 72 hours after joining but soon I'll post in in the comments in case someone else encounters the issue Anyway, I mainly do liminal spaces and backrooms content but also a lot of video games nostalgia Example of Detective Toad https://www.tiktok.com/@liminally_ill/video/7430200704133827872 Here's my linktree with all my socials (IG, RedNote, etc.) https://linktr.ee/liminallyill After the 72 hour period I'll post here https://www.models-resource.com/ms_dos/doom/model/40482 the issue I had with a few faces being black in Blender and the solution that I found here https://blenderartists.org/t/why-cycles-renders-some-faces-black/1328134/4 which was basically >select object with black faces > edit mode > Alt + N (Normals menu) > select ‘Set from Faces’. I'll post to help someone in the future because all the usual solutions like flip normals, merge vertices, check for overlapping faces, etc. didn't work ANYWAY, HAPPY TO BE HERE NOW |
