Tyler's Nintendo Spriting - tyler_robert - 02-11-2009 Petey Pirhana Metaknight RE: Petey Pirhana & Metaknight - Alpha Six - 02-11-2009 They all suffer from palette and contrast issues. RE: Petey Pirhana & Metaknight - tyler_robert - 02-11-2009 Please explain further Also, some more stuff Yoshi Pokemon Overworld Tiles and such RE: Petey Pirhana & Metaknight - Alpha Six - 02-11-2009 There are far too many shades, your colors are dull and there's virtually no contrast in between shades. In other words, everything blends together, but not in the desired effect, and it ends up looking really ugly in the end. RE: Petey Pirhana & Metaknight - tyler_robert - 02-11-2009 Alright, thanks, I'll see what I can do with that RE: Petey Pirhana & Metaknight - Badassbill - 02-12-2009 For palettes, go look at some Capcom and Nintendo games. The overworld stuff might be helped by referencing some Pokémon tiles. RE: Petey Pirhana & Metaknight - Koopaul - 02-12-2009 Finding the right palette can sometimes be the hardest part of the sprite. Because the palette often has a lot to do with the style your going for. Sometimes I'm halfway through a sprite and realize that the palette is not gonna work. RE: Petey Pirhana & Metaknight - tyler_robert - 02-13-2009 Thanks for all your help, and I'll look into a more lively pallete when I can find the time. In all honesty, though I don't usually admit it, I'm still pretty new to the spriting game (though I'm sure you guys can all tell that) EDIT: Is this better for a pallete? Mario This is supposed to be a new style of Mario, and he's more of a jumping-around plumber than a skilled fighter. RE: Tyler's Nintendo Spriting - nairenu - 02-13-2009 Nope, not yet, try to make the lightest shades alot lighter, and the darker shades alot darker RE: Tyler's Nintendo Spriting - tyler_robert - 02-13-2009 Hmm, I kinda like the blended look. But I'll give it a shot. Are the shoes okay? Better? RE: Tyler's Nintendo Spriting - DarkZero - 02-13-2009 He looks a bit too muscular. RE: Tyler's Nintendo Spriting - tyler_robert - 02-13-2009 Yeah, it's a new style of Mario I'm trying out. He's supposed to be a larger, less fighter-looking Mario RE: Petey Pirhana & Metaknight - Owlthief - 02-13-2009 (02-11-2009, 11:32 PM)tyler_robert Wrote: Please explain further that thing scares me. All kidding aside, you need better lineart on this RE: Tyler's Nintendo Spriting - tyler_robert - 02-13-2009 Yeah, my lineart still needs work That was an old sprite anyways, a month at least... I can't tell on the computer I'm on because there's an atrocious glare on it, but it also looks like you're using way too many shades that don't have any contrast. Work on that. |
