I like them especially the block guy but I don't like his 1 animation he look like he's moving his thumb instead of his index finger.
For the talking one make his eyes move to cause no one moves only the mouth as they talk.
Block dog:
I like it but the spikes at the front are really weird make them more down wards to show hat they are pointy.
Where are this guys from?

in the vids on youtube featuring brirock he doesn't move his eyes
so i'm trying to keep it as similar to the original as possible
i tried redoing the spikes but in all other positions, it looks too stubby and not sharp

Then Brirock is too Tall. He should be as tall as Mario and Luigi, not taller than Bowser.

Proportions, it looks like his head is fat and he has no shoulders.

he's supposed to be around the same height as blodog if not a tad shorter
