Genso Suikogaiden Vol. 1 Preview - James816 - 03-31-2009 I'm chugging away at Suikogaiden Vol. 1, but it's going to take a long time to finish. If anybody has or can find a Japanese Suikoden 2 save and/or completed save games for both Suikogaiden games, it would help me a great deal. Anyway, here's a preview - it's not a complete sheet by any means, but it should give you an idea of what I'm doing. http://img530.imageshack.us/img530/5666/sierrapreview.png RE: Genso Suikogaiden Vol. 1 Preview - Dazz - 03-31-2009 Those seem to be squished? RE: Genso Suikogaiden Vol. 1 Preview - James816 - 03-31-2009 Oh right, I meant to comment on that. That's just the way they're stored in the VRAM, and if you keep the PSX aspect ratio intact when using an emulator, they look the same way in game. You have to stretch the whole screen to make them look right, but I posted them as is because I didn't want to distort the original image. RE: Genso Suikogaiden Vol. 1 Preview - Dazz - 03-31-2009 I'll have a look into it myself too. But i've still got to get hold of it PM the location plz RE: Genso Suikogaiden Vol. 1 Preview - James816 - 03-31-2009 I've got an actual copy of the game I bought several years ago. I'm not sure where you would find it now. RE: Genso Suikogaiden Vol. 1 Preview - James816 - 03-31-2009 I've confirmed the game's native resolution is 512x240, very squished compared to other PSX games. Meh, also realized I probably should have posted this in the Sprite Discussion forum, but at least it seems to be picking up speed now! RE: Genso Suikogaiden Vol. 1 Preview - Dazz - 04-01-2009 Sorry dude, I've found the ISO and I'm already miles ahead of you... I'm also ripping everything from Chapter 1 instead of just Sierra. Edit: infact... I'm done with Chapter 1, everything from it. Big sheet. http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/7311/suikogaidenchapter1star.png RE: Genso Suikogaiden Vol. 1 Preview - James816 - 04-01-2009 Way to steal my thunder - I've actually gotten everything from chapter 1 and 2 now, halfway through 3, just haven't had time to put it all together. Edit: There's definitely at least one background you've missed, and you're missing some of Ayana as well - http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/8884/ayana.png RE: Genso Suikogaiden Vol. 1 Preview - Dazz - 04-01-2009 Alright, wicked, if you want you can take all the crap off my sheet and put it all together. I didn't mean to "steal your thunder" as such, just got a bit excited Feel free to use anything I've got. RE: Genso Suikogaiden Vol. 1 Preview - James816 - 04-01-2009 It's going to take several play-throughs to rip everything, as the branching paths and story/popularity/secret points confuse the hell out of me. After you've finished the game, though, you can use an in-game viewer to see all of the backgrounds you've seen while playing, which would make ripping those much easier (100% save file, anyone??). All in all, Suikogaiden is proving to be a lot easier than I had anticipated, so hopefully I'll have some finished sheets up soon. Going to work now, though, RAWR. |
