Sprite Boards - Dazz - 05-15-2008

These are the rules for all boards falling under the category of spriting, which include;
Submissions
Discussion
And Projects

1. Before you submit.
Before you even think about submitting, check this page and then really ask yourself if you think that your work will be accepted. If the answer is a most definite yes, throw your sheet(s) our way. If no, ask why, and correct the mistake. If unsure, then post in the sprite discussion board.

2. Don't just say it's bad.
If you plan on telling someone that their work isn't very good, tell them why. And remember to be a bit gentle about it. Be as brutally honest as you can by all means, but don't just say "that's terrible" and don't get personal with it. Tell them how to improve if you can, and if you can't at least say that you don't know how they can correct it.

3. Don't get angry or upset.
If you can't take the criticism, then you shouldn't be showing your work. It's as simple as that. Of course if someone has just said your work isn't that good you should be upset, maybe even angry, but just accept it, and if they were just flaming you with no real criticism, then report it to us and we'll take care of it.

4. Don't make requests.
It's simple as, you don't request for people to do work for you. You can ask for their help as long as you put some sort of effort in yourself. And don't expect somebody to help you. You'll never learn until you get your own hands in on the action.

5. USE AN IMAGE HOSTING SITE.
Jesus Christ, would it kill you guys to upload your sprites there and post them here? Attachments are incredibly annoying, especially when I have to download the sprite only for it to end up being a shitty recolor. Not only that but it makes the poster look like an amateur. All you have to do is make an account, upload the image, and paste the link here. Make sure you put it between [.IMG] [/IMG] (without the period)

Please use these sites:

http://www.Photobucket.com
http://www.Imageshack.us
http://www.Pixeljoint.com
http://www.Tinypic.com
http://www.majhost.com
http://www.imagehost.org
(If you have any other sites, post them here) I personally prefer Photobucket.com
*Image links must end in PNG. GIF. BMP. JPG. or any other file type for images to show correctly.
*NEVER EVER POST JPG!, BMP isn't recommended either. PNG or GIF is fine.

The URL of your image, the "thingie" ending with ".gif" or ".png"
If you have any doubt you can switch to the complete post mode by clicking on "Add Reply", there you'll see all commands with explanations.

Hey, baby.

What I did is right-click on your image and copy the image link. You didn't post a direct link to the image, so I had to do that.
Then I pasted it between the img tags:
Code:
[img]http://www.majhost.com/gallery/YourBuddyBill/ybbrecolors/green_puffer_cheep.png[/img]

Hope that made sense, cutie. Wink

what about pictures in your files?

RE: Sprite Boards - Ultimecia - 12-22-2009

I explained at the thread you created (and I just locked). Please, read it.

Two Sprites from Pokemon Ranger: Tracks Of Light slightly edited by me.

First: it's NOT a topic for submission, but to show rules and elucidate doubts
Second: This signature is way damn big. Get a smaller one or we are going to get a smaller for you

Well, excuse me for being new to these threads and not knowing how to use them properly. I've changed my signature image to a smaller one, but don't ever talk to me like that again. Right?

RE: Sprite Boards - Chaoxys - 03-10-2010

Talk to you like what? You posted in the wrong spot, so she informed you that this topic was to show the rules. She then told you to shrink the credit tag on the sheet you are trying to submit, which you should since it is rather big. She said nothing that could even be taken as slightly rude.

RE: Sprite Boards - Ultimecia - 03-10-2010

Being new isn't excuse for being stupid.
Other thing is you don't need to be a smart person to figure out about what this thread is about, just read the first message.
And just to complete the package, I'm a moderator and I'm doing my job: inform you that you're posting at the wrong place and your signature was too big. Since WHEN I'm being rude? And since you're being such a douchebag and downright idiot I'm going to talk to you the way I see fit. Now try to be smart for a change and post at the right place.
Not to mention "sightly edited" don't counts as "edited". First post this at Sprites Discussion, this is the place for critique and comments, not to mention a sort of quality control BEFORE submitting.

Its quite sad to see that you don't realize how rude you're actually being. I don't care if you're a moderator, even if the "power" has gone to your head. i hope you don't talk to everyone like this, you know.

RE: Sprite Boards - Lemon - 03-14-2010

You are one of the biggest idiots ever. People who have been here much longer, and have contributed full completed sheets show the mods some respect. Learn to give some or you won't get any in return.

RE: Sprite Boards - Adam - 03-14-2010

This discussion ends now; this topic is not for submitting sprites, nor is it in need of any more discussion.

PokeKai, read the rules and get acquainted with the forum more. Look around and learn where things are supposed to be posted, and how things work. Ultimecia has a right to point out your flaws, and it's the internet; even if she was being rude (which she really wasn't, sorry dude,) then it really shouldn't be that big of a deal.

And Lemon is right in what he says: the more respect you show to the members, the more you'll receive in turn. I'm glad to see a new member, and I hope you'll be an active one, but just take some time to get used to things, alright? Wink

I'm locking this topic; if anyone has questions about these rules, message one of the staff or ask in a similar topic. Thanks for obliging.
