Snake TWEWY - OrangeRakoon - 06-29-2009

Solid Snake in TWEWY style.

First thing I've done in absolutely ages, and it took me too long...

I realised towards the end that snake is mirrored because of my reference, but I'm not changing it now.

C+C please?

No one?

And yes double post.

RE: Snake TWEWY - Adam - 06-30-2009

Too much banding. The overall structure seems alright, but I don't feel the face matches the style very much. The outline is also a tad jagged. I'd work on smoothing things out a bit. Not bad.

RE: Snake TWEWY - Gaia - 06-30-2009

- Face is too round

- Pillowed in some areas

- Not the best pallete choice in some areas

- A little too much 'AA in some areas

- Snake's nose is a little too big

And grab a reference of some of the older characters in this game, it might help.

RE: Snake TWEWY - Cobalt Blue - 06-30-2009

also, fic the anatomy, the torso specially isnt not really conected to the legs

RE: Snake TWEWY - SpencerEX - 06-30-2009

this looks awesome, just fix his face a lil bit

RE: Snake TWEWY - OtherWhiteMeat - 07-01-2009

It might just be me, but the necks seems a tad too skinny.

Don't know if this is an improvement. Made the head taller, so it is less rounded. Tried chaning the nose, came out weird. I haven't tried the enitre face yet. Made the neck thicker, and smoothed out the outside lines (as well as small fix to his right leg where it was still single line).

I'm not sure what you mean by fixing the torso...
And where is the pillowing? Not that I doubt there is some, I just can't see it...

RE: Snake TWEWY - SpencerEX - 07-01-2009

the whiskers on his face bother me cuz he kinda has more of a go-t

Also notice on that ref the neck is way thicker than in your drawing.

RE: Snake TWEWY - OrangeRakoon - 07-02-2009

I know, but I want it to be in style

The necks seem generally quite thin

Well yeah, since most of the characters are thin themselves. Snake is a ripped gentleman.

RE: Snake TWEWY - TPoe - 07-02-2009

I think his chin needs ro be a little more square, and his eyes are a little weird to me, but I can't say why.

That's not an excuse.
Almost all of those characters are kids, which snake is not. He is a deadly, muscular character who will slit your throat in a sec. Smile Your main problem here is his face. It's not masculine at all and it seems cartoony(not a good thing when you're suppose to be going for anime-ish style). Your anatomy needs alot of work too.

the guy with the AMX on his tshirt is the one you must use as a reference. compared to your snake, he really looks masculine, sports some musculature, and the anatomy is justified as thats the style/pose. not to mention most of the lines in the desings are quite angular if not bug curves, and uses a LOT of black to cover certain shadows.
