Transparency Help - Sol - 07-06-2009 Hey, I don't usually make requests, but I'm having a bit of trouble. Can someone please make (or tell me how to make) the purple background in this image transparent? ![]() The file also needs to be saved as a PNG, I won't be able to use it otherwise. If someone could do this for me, or tell me how I could do it myself, I'd really appreciate it. RE: Transparency Help - Cshad - 07-06-2009 If you have an animating program you can just save it as a transparent image, I dont know how to make a png transparent though, sorry >: RE: Transparency Help - Devicho - 07-06-2009 I'd actually like to know this, too. I used to have Fireworks, with which I could make transparent .png files, but when my last laptop died I lost both it and Flash. :'c (If someone knows where I could download virus-free trial versions of the MX 2004 version of both programs, please tell me! I have activation codes for them from a friend, since I got the programs from said friend in the first place, but this was before I moved to AZ, so I can't exactly go over to his house and ask to borrow the disc or anything...) So all I really have right now is Paint. I know of an animating program or two I could download temporarily to make things transparent, but saving as a .gif ruins the quality with Paint. :< RE: Transparency Help - Crazy Koopa - 07-06-2009 I believe this is how you want it, yes? (Title is there, just very hard to see on this background.) ![]() RE: Transparency Help - Sol - 07-06-2009 (07-06-2009, 02:32 AM)Crazy Koopa Wrote: I believe this is how you want it, yes? RE: Transparency Help - Boo - 07-06-2009 If you want to make images transparent just download Paint Shop Pro. I can give you a few images to show you how to easily make it transparent. Here's a link to Paint Shop Pro 8. It's an old version but easy to use and only like 50 MB. Oh and it says it's only a 30 Day Trial, but you can go over the trial period. http://www.brothersoft.com/paint-shop-pro-64054.html So now that it's downloaded. Click New Image, and make sure it has Vector Background like so. http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/5623/cavestory1.png Then simply paste your image onto the canvas, and take out the Magic Wand tool like this. http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/6629/cavestory.png Next remove all the Background which is purple in this case, and should look like this. http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/9836/cavestory2.png Now go to the Save As option and then change it to a PNG. Name it and save it like so. http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/2738/cavestory3.png Then it should turn out like this when your finished. It was no problem and your welcome. So now anytime you want to make something transparent you can. ![]() RE: Transparency Help - SleepyHarry - 07-06-2009 (07-06-2009, 04:09 AM)Boo Wrote: If you want to make images transparent just download Paint Shop Pro. You can do all of that with Paint.Net; just erase the background first, (so you can see the gray & white checks) paste in the picture, and proceed with the magic wand tool. RE: Transparency Help - Devicho - 07-17-2009 Gonna bump this up and sneak in my own request since it's essentially the same thing Sol asked for before. I was wondering if someone could make the white part of the following sprite transparent. I'd download one of the listed programs but my connection is being iffy right now so I don't know if I can get either program without getting disconnected. ![]() RE: Transparency Help - Link - 07-17-2009 Here you go, man. =] ![]() RE: Transparency Help - Devicho - 07-17-2009 (07-17-2009, 09:06 PM)Mr. L Wrote: Here you go, man. =]Awesome, thanks! RE: Transparency Help - Link - 07-17-2009 If you have any more, I can do them. xD It's not very hard with GIMP. |
