This is my first post here! - Khrene Cleaver - 07-25-2009 As mt first post at tSR I guess I'll say hello, or I can say to hell with formalities and get ta putting up sprites! Tonight I'll just upload some sprites I wanna submit. Aeris Gainsborough Animations: ![]() ![]() Unorganized Sheets: Face Sprite ![]() I'll submit when I get some comments and criticism and when I've got my sheet all organized. I'll upload more tomorrow when I'm not messing around. RE: This is my first post here! - JosephSeraph - 07-25-2009 Skirt---->pillowshading. Besides that, lovely, one of my favorite characters, thank you ^-^ Edit: Corrected ^-^' RE: This is my first post here! - Gors - 07-25-2009 LOVELY, bud. Not 'lvoely' ![]() Well, onto the sprites... It animates well, but that's because you edited it. Sprite editing is a good way to practice, but it's not always the best way to make good sprites. Most people likes custom work, because it looks authentic and stuff. As JosephSeraph said, the skirt looks pillowshaded and not in style: you could increase the skirt's contrast and reshade it. The portrait's hair is jagged compared to the original ones, and her eyebrows should be more like them. RE: This is my first post here! - Khrene Cleaver - 07-26-2009 Yeah I know I needed to redo the skirt/sundress, when I realized it, it was a bit far into it and I knew if I redid them I would get lazy and bored and end up not doing the sprites at all. But what exactly do you mean by the hair? Do you mean the lines in her giant bang or the hair line? [strikeout]And what's wrog with the eyebrows? They don't look like the base I used you mean?[/strikeout] Edit: Oh yeah I see what you mean with the eyebrows. RE: This is my first post here! - Gors - 07-26-2009 yeah, you need to antialiase the eyebrows so it looks more like the official ones. and her (weird) hair should be smoother, principally the pointy parts. RE: This is my first post here! - Khrene Cleaver - 07-27-2009 Okay I messed with the small sprites' pallet and shading. They look less pillowy, and I think it's good but I've been wrong. These on the left are my preference those on the right are earlier redos that I don't really like. ![]() I also smoothed out the hair points on the portrait and made the eyebrows Erika's. ![]() I think that the hair looks pretty accurate to the official art and other than those points i don't think there's much else to buffer. http://img24.imageshack.us/i/7aerisa.jpg/ btw Thanks for your comments, they're making me not be lazy. Edit: Since I'm not getting nothing I'll probably continue the shading with my best judgement and went I get something done I'll all ask for a bump so I don't double post. |
