[HALP!] How to assemble ripped LegendOfMana backgrounds? - pgmana - 10-31-2009 Hi there, I've been lurking the site for some time, finally i've found a project that's worth a "first topic"! I'm ripping Legend of Mana (PSX) backgrounds, after A LOT of work i've manged to hack the iso, crack the compression, and grasp the raw graphical data. I'm using TiledGGD to extract the graphics: i've a bunch of raw data files, containing the graphics, the palettes and other useless data. I save the graphics with every possible palette and get for example this: http://pgmana.altervista.org/hidden/lak_upst.prs.dec3.png from this you can assemble for example this: http://pgmana.altervista.org/LoM/lak_upst.png ( If you dont see the pictures, copy-paste the URL in the urlbar of your browser! ) Now, what i'm asking for is an idea ( A tool or a routine would be the ideal ) to assemble those files automatically, or at least help me easying and speeding the process. I have 490 raw data files, in everyone there is between 3 and 15 palettes, that makes THOUSANDS of "puzzles" to assemble... Also note that the one i posted here is by far one of the easiest ones. Anyway, usually all the assembling got to be done the hard way (yourself) :/ I wish I knew a tool to do that, but even if it was it would be safer to do it manually anyway. Some PSX textures (my current specially) got 15 palettes too, but not all of them are used, so I have to try palette by palette until I find the right ones. Also, i'd like any suggestions on how to speed it up in the "hard way"... cause right now i'm using photoshop, but it's very very hard and slow work sometimes... A graphic program that imports the images and manage them as tiles would be very useful for example ( i've tried tiled but it isnt handy ). 'Having the puzzle pieces ready for assembling would be easier then having to first "cut and prepare" them' Maybe i'll "open" the project, since i'll never be able to do all the 490 maps alone >_< RE: [HALP!] How to assemble ripped LegendOfMana backgrounds? - Ultimecia - 11-03-2009 I got this program called Stitch Studio to help me assemble the freaking huge sheets of Indiana Jones and Guybrush Threepwood, among others. The sprites themselves didn't needed assembling, but they were +980 sprites in different files. The program can cut down the images into smaller pieces with a fixed width and height, and then you can re-assemble them making the tiles something like 1 to 5 pixels apart and then re-organizing or assembling them in a proper way in photoshop or whatever program you use. |
