Say the game was overrated all you want, but you'd have to be some sort of fucking idiot to deny that the game had a fantastic script, along with top-of-the-line acting.
oh my god, how did i forget Bioshock? fort frolic is probably my favorite level in any game just for the atmosphere and sander cohen is a fantastic character I honestly would have played Bioshock right now if the actual gameplay didn't look really boring ):

Well I put that badly. I'm not looking for a SNES revival I guess I'm saying.

the actual gameplay is pretty fantastic in the first one, a few of the early levels have a whole bunch of survival horror elements (because the entire world of rapture is supposed to be new and terrifying in the beginning when you have no idea what the fuck) but it picks up right around the first boss fight

Koopaul, try a little thing called "Taking off your fucking nostalgia goggles". It's 2010. 1990 was twenty years ago, and gaming has evolved since then. You need to broaden your horizons and realize that your little isolated bubble of games aren't the only options you have.
Jesus Christ, get out and go to a game store and try something that isn't Mario for once.
Also, another thing I loved about Bioshock is that every part of the gameplay just melted right in with the story. Even the numerous weapons you get all have meaning to them. You find the pistol being cradled by a Splicer in a stroller, and you find the chemical thrower shortly shortly after Julie Langford was poisoned. The seamless blending of gameplay and story was just fantastic for me.

Yeah I do! How do you know what I own? I thought No More Heroes 1 and 2 were fantastic games. I do enjoy a few rounds of Halo. And I loved the Conduit!
So because I miss some other types of classic games, I hate everything else? Yes i'm sick of the premises today, but i still enjoy them as a game.

Well I have no complaints about the games I'm playing. Almost everything I own I enjoy... I just miss Banjo-Kazooie like games that's all. What's wrong with that? They are out there, i know, but they aren't as good as they used to be.
Stop jumping the gun guys. Maybe I'm not communicating right.
ALL THE NEXT GAMES THAT COME OUT WILL NEVER BE LIKE THE OLD GAMES FROM THE 90S. NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN WILL THEY BE LIKE THE 90S.
DO YOU KNOW WHY?
BECAUSE IT ISN'T THE 90S ANYMORE THATS WHY. VIDEO GAMES WERE FIRST BRANCHING OUT IN THE 90S AND NOW THAT GAME SYSTEMS HAVE GOTTEN BETTER AND SO HAVE MOST OF THE GAMES. PLEASE STOP NOSTALGIA SPOOGING ALL OVER THE THREADS.

Calm down. I'm merely talking about what I'd like to see more of. Its not even like I'm arguing with anyone! This is getting ridiculous.

Can we stop freaking out at Koopaul
I mean I disagree with a lot of the things he says but I'm just tired of watching Koopaul post something and then like EVERYONE freaking out at him.
Seriously, chill the fuck out.
Edit: Oh, ninja'd. Anyway, I'll make a post actually related to the thread when I can think of a few things.

in the 90's it was all about having the coolest mascot running around.
in the year 2000 is all about war in all its forms.
i personally dont care, as long as its fun and i can enjoy it, i'd play it. bragging that games "ARENT AS <____> AS THEY USED TO BE" is so stupid as saying "WHY I AM NOT A KID ANYMORE".
