The difference between a freindship and a relationship is pretty much the physical side of things so yeah.
i mean, the only difference between an internet friendship and an internet relationship is that the two individuals state that they are now in a relationship. there is no point in saying you are boy friend and girl friend unless your doing stuff together because otherwise you might as well just be friend and friend
