This was an art trade, did it in about two hours.

i beg your pardon, isn't it up to the artist to say what is his doodle or not? most of da vinci's works are "doodles" to him. his "finished works" are his paintings.
i'll be sure to post there if/when i actually finish something, though!

Sup Murder.

I agree with Murder. For example, I think the item posted is easily a doodle, just a 4 hour during class doodle. There is a hundred different things that could be finished to complete the render. Like tighten up the "paint strokes" or maybe making the grass not look like ass.

The difference with a doodle and finished drawing is that, a doodle is done when the message gets a cross not really the aesthetics.

anyone remember when I said that I'll "update" the petra pic

when I meant "update" i meant "completely revamp"

This will probably be more under Kat's definition of doodle;

Tip for texturing the hair:
Lay out the basic shapes first, and then texture
Brock's fringe/bangs/whatever thing comes ahead of the main bulk of his hair, but the way you've shaded it so far, it looks like a continuous shape.
I'd also suggest avoiding scumbling, since it looks really weird against the smooth way you've rendered the skin.
Unless you're gonna smooth that out later, I guess!

ALSO if he's looking angry, his eyes should probably be more open. Grab yourself a mirror and SCOWL AT IT. Your lower lid gets pushed up, but your upper lid stays quite open.
