My return to Spriters resource (now VG resource)

It does look better. It's more of a gold coin now.

I'm DeathByJaguar, but you can call me Ricky, I guess. I dunno. I draw, program a little, and am writing a novel that has no title at the moment.

Because there doesn't seem to be any more problems with the coins. I made sprites for red and blue coins, and added it to the gold ones.

Looking good. If you want to be a little more loyal to the original designs, you can saturate the colors of the red and blue coins.

The coins in question have been saturated.

The red coin doesn't look very saturated to me, likely because of the brightest color. I'd say shift the colors all up one(so that the second lightest becomes the first lightest, third lightest becomes the second lightest, etc) and make a new color for the darkest shade.

All I have to say is that it looks like it came from the virtual boy.

The coins in Mario are usually a little more colorful than the ones you have here.
Maybe you could try a hue shift instead of shades as the colors currently look a little dull.

Before I post my sprites, I have one problem with your example. Your hue-shifting advice claims my sprites don't have that much contrast, but, they do.

What he means is your coin is kinda like a shiny plastic rather that a shiny metal... [Image: stock-photo-9047201-shiny-metal-background.jpg]

Like this foil... It delves straight into the darker colors

I shifted the hue a little bit for each of the coins.

The blue looks a bit default MS Paint, the red's different hues are unfitting(one is a bright red, but another is a weird brownish orange color) and the yellow looks desaturated now.

I'm getting a little sick of commenting on my own posts, so I might just stop doing it.

If you need to, use the colors from the Mario in your avatar as a reference. They'd be perfect, except for the yellow, which might need a bit of hue shifting.

I did what you said, but, I'm leaving it up to you to tell me if this is the result you wanted
