Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire
#46
Well yeah, I do buy the third ones as well, but still, what I'm trying to say is that I never buy both halves, only one. And then when the third one is released, I buy that.

I'm excited for this. I've been playing Pokemon since the first generation, but gen 3 is one of the ones that stuck with me the most, for whatever reason. I'd really like it if they were sequels instead of remakes, especially considering the plot of the gen 3 games was pretty weak from what I remember. I don't think we need to revisit that, haha. I'll probably be getting Omega Ruby because Ruby was my introduction to the third gen.

Here's something interesting: This will be the first time people can transfer their Pokemon from their native game all the way to that game's remake. I was planning on starting this game with a Treecko, but after thinking about it, I'm not sure what I'll do, considering I have my original Sceptile sitting around. Maybe a DOUBLE SCEPTILE SUPER TEAM. My veteran Sceptile shall mentor the new blood in the ways of battle!!! Who knows.

I'm not sure about that. Doesn't Nintendo end Nintendo Wifi Connection for the DS games this summer?

You need Bank to get Gen V to Gen VI, AFAIK.

@Koh: Literally none of the generation transferring methods use the internet except Bank... which uses the 3DS Wifi servers, not the DS. You don't even need a DS to use it, it's just putting a DS game into your 3DS and using a 3DS app. 3DS!!

... Why would they introduce the Pokemon Transporter/Pokemon Bank if it was going to stop working half a year later...?

Ah but yeah! I am excited but cautiously optimistic! I honestly didn't enjoy X/Y that much (I can explain but I'll only explain if anyone wants me to...) and Gen VI so far has left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth and I kind of don't trust Game Freak to not fuck this up. I'm staying pretty reserved until there's actually gameplay footage revealed.

However, it doesn't stop me from wondering a bunch of stuff like: will they change the bike to the way it worked in Gen IV where it had two speeds or will it switch? What'll they do with the Game Corner now that they seem to have completely sworn off the whole "gambling in Pokemon games" thing? Will they change much of the geography due to the transition to 3D? Kalos was built up to have a more angled and organic map, so will they alter Hoenn to be less square? And if so, how exactly? Will they attempt to make the surfing/diving routes less tedious somehow? Will Wally actually be interesting? Will the music's instrumentation not suck ass this time? Will they have customization? Can you imagine Professor Birch in 3D???

I have a theory:
What if the Red Orb and Blue Orb, which awaken Groudon and Kyogre respectively, turn out to be their respective Mega Stones.

Yeah, I was a bit disappointed by their lack of use as items in the originals,
so hopefully.

Someone copy pasta some links, vids and/or screenies from that here when it airs. I want to see how they handled the models. And if the trainers are getting a third redesign.

To be honest, I really hope they follow that equation from Emerald, and have you go fetch Rayquaza to get those two to stop bickering, and then go catch all three. I also hope Juan is the 8th gym, Wallace is the Champ, and Steven is on Meteor Falls again with an even stronger team.
