I have to clean up a couple of things in regards to the lighting but I wanted to see what other people think I should do as I clean this up.

Oh wow, I actually kind of forgot that I had made this thread a while back and haven't updated it in years.

ANYWAYS let me bump this and update you on what I've been up to as of late with various pixel works in no particular order:

[Image: onamoredarkernote.png] (<- Fun fact: I'm actually getting a tattoo of the rooster and the skull based on this design thanks to some of my skills I picked up)

So yeah there's all that. Some of you guys might have seen them in the discord chat.... Or not. Either way it's been long overdue that I post these on the forum.

I love the first one, it feels so retro and the colour choices are amazing.

If i were to offer any advice it would be to ease up on the dithering a little. Your Mario shows you dont need to dither so much and you can still get smooth results, and it helps the texturing on the pipe pop a little, as opposed to the "My sprint arrested" piece which is pretty much all dithering. Its a nit pick more than an issue, personal taste and all.

Also i can't tell if its because of style or not but your facial anatomy seems a little squarish?

I can try to elaborate further if needed Smile

Yeah the dithering I've been sort of experimenting with in the past year. I can see why you said that it wasn't necessary on the Mario but at the time I made this I felt it seemed kind of flat without it? Hard to remember since this was a couple of months back.

Anyhow yeah facial anatomy is gonna have to be the next thing I work on while I'm working to get to the next level of mastery with my art skills. Not sure where that's gonna go from here given fucking covid is forcing me to look at a digital screen instead of... you know. Actual people. But that's just something I'm gonna have to work with for the time being.

Finally caught up with the new developments since last time (2 years ago lol). I gotta say your art fucking amazing and mind blowing.
The castle in space in another dimension thing makes you travel to bizarre and fantastical worlds of imagination.
My human self feels naked and fragile when looking at the skeleton and roots and beating arts thing.
I really like what you did with mario. The style is unique and fresh and cool. I would love to see you do more of that please

Why thank you!

Honestly my mind has been going into different places as I've been working on different things so I may end up utilizing what I have learned in the pieces I've made in the next work that I do!

It's been awhile but here's what I'm currently working on.

Still a WIP but hoping that this week I can work on the more abstract elements in this piece. I'm feeling confident that I nailed the body right having utilized the references I used from one of my friend's photos.

Also I think it's worth noting that recently I got a recent commission that I did for a friend and his youtube and twitch out of the way recently.

I MIGHT post it here but it's not going to be in the form of the image that I usually do, not really something that I think would be appropriate since technically those are assets for his thing.

Both of these being WIPs that I'm working on at the same time.

Right now my main goal is to get a rhythm going into doing multiple projects at once. However, I also want to be able to really drive and develop my artistic aesthetic in my own self study.

If anything, going nuts with everything I've learned over the past couple of years and putting it to the test now that my mental health is in a decent place all things considered.

Your stuff reminds me of old dos pixelwork. So nostalgic.

Also on a side note to Smithy while I'm updating this thread, thanks!

I actually didn't even think of DOS based pixel art until you brought that up.
