I suppose when compared to the original sonic 1, it is better.
And who doesn't love the animated parts?
But yeah, the soundtrack is pretty good. as you said, I don't think I've heard a Sonic game with a bad soundtrack yet.
As I said before though, my main problem is with the gameplay tweaks. It just feels like a sort of oddball game to me.
