When I say I want to work more on it, I do mean it. I just wish I wasn't so easily distracted...
But, if anyone wants what I currently have, I can upload the current GM7 file (I don't remember, but I think I might be using a reg-only function here or there).
Current features:
- SOL
--- Walking and jumping
--- Climbing
- Level
--- Adjustable autoscrolling
--- VERY basic generation (that is, just generates a plain, flat level)
Yeah, not that much right now. I remember paintbrush attacks and enemies were next on my to-do list.
After that, I was going to try tackling the random-level generation. This part needs to be thoroughly discussed first, since platform level generation is pretty tough and a relatively rare feature; we have to figure out what kind of levels we want it to generate, as well as what sorts of obstacles and features we want in the levels.
I suppose more gameplay things (like pickups, boss rooms, etc.) can be added in after that.
Though, now that I look back at that list, it'd probably be a good idea to do the level generation first, or at least get a rudimentary version running, before moving on to include the attacks and enemies. This is so we can also more easily add the enemy and item spawning pieces.
