That's not really where my complaint lies, moreover that I'd rather play against people of my own skill level. A Losers Bracket only sort of diminishes that - there's not really anything stopping two mismatched-skill parings in a row. And to be honest, since there's a lot of hype surrounding the high-end pixelartists going against each other, then why not cut out the middle man and already have them pre-grouped? :V Because let's face it, bearing in mind the way online art critique tends to function, a system where entrants are fellated and/or condemned based entirely on the quality of submission is pretty much exactly what the people want. In a worst case scenario, the borderline people who straddle between skill groups get to be big fish in small ponds.
I do also like different brackets getting different challenges. Means there's a wider scope of skills being tested and more varied result. 65 entries of the same topic sounds a little boring, even if the entries vary in quality.
