Yeah Most games seem to have that kind of distortion. ratchet and clank is pretty heavy with the distortion, while devil may cry is less so, with almost no distortion.
unfortunately there is not much you can do about it. I usually spend a great deal of time fixing this before submitting it here.
What I do is try and fix half of the model mirror it when it looks alright.
