Started playing Jamestown, even though I've had it from a Humble Bundle way back in 2011. It's actually really really fun, I don't play many shmups and they've never looked like I'd enjoy them, maybe that's true with most but I'm definitely having a blast with this one. The story is interesting (steampunk 17th century Mars colonisation?!?), the art is great, the music is sweet and the gameplay is extremely enjoyable.
The campaign does look a tad short with only 6 levels, but there are also a multitude of bonus challenges, as well as gauntlet mode, higher difficulties, 4 very different ships, and up to 4-player single-computer co-op. The combo multiplier ("vaunt mode") also makes for an interesting and fun way to try get high scores.
I can't believe it took me almost 3 years before I tried this.
