You could divide it in smaller parts, or even put them in categories (conker voices, enemy voices, NPC voices etc).

As for the samples being high-pitched, it probably is a technique to save cartridge space. A sped up sample has a smaller duration (which means smaller file size) and can be slowed down with effects to restore its intended speed and pitch.
