SuperArthurBros over on MFGG suggested another idea similar to yours (his sketch is down below). The only thing stopping me from applying it is that not everyone would appreciate me making Peach a little more realistic by making her arms look anything but perfectly straight.
Now then, I decided to draw the "sketches" for most of Mario's feet. I still need to create the feet from the upper and lower angles, but I want to make sure this set looks alright before moving on.
I'm still uncertain about the foot that directly faces the front, which is why I didn't fix it up at all. I feel like the 3/4 view feet are suitable for practically any situation you'd use a front facing foot in (with the added bonus that it looks a bit more natural); however, I don't want to be hasty about something like this. If I need the foot at that angle, then I'll whip it up (along with the back variation, of course). Otherwise, I'm not going to bother.
