Hey, DarkGrievous, don't feel bad. There was nothing wrong with that opinion you gave me.
I'm going to be honest here, but I'm not that big on the new art direction either. Like I mentioned before, what I miss about the old one is the challenge it provided. That way, I was practicing my digital painting skills and flexing my judgement in order to place the shading in most effective spots possible. The only reasons why I made the characters so angular are that it's a homage to how I used to "draw" in Adobe Illustrator and a last-ditch effort to prevent the characters from looking too much like how they do in Color Splash (as in just their normal sprites without any shading on them). If you or anyone elseĀ has any suggestions on spicing up the art direction, then I'm at least listening.
