Everyone should be happy. (Final roster topic)
#31
Tried my hand at organizing it, because I think it works well this way.

[Image: 2eajhoj.png]

Red = Mario
Light Green = Yoshi
Yellow = Wario
Brown = Dk
Green = Zelda
Pink = Kirby
Light Brown = StarFox
Light Orange = Pokemon
Orange = Metroid
Dark Blue = Earthbound
Olive Green = F-Zero
Dark Red = Fire Emblem
Grey = First Party Series with only 1 rep
Purple = 3rd Party

6x10, 60 characters. The original starting cast of SSB is along the top row, plus two unlockables from SSB (the other two, Luigi and Jiggs, are not fromt heir own series). This also means that every series with more than one character (besides Fire Emblem and Wario, which weren't in SSB) is represented along the top line (excpet Yoshi). I feel this sort of evenly distributes all of the big-name main characters of these franchises. However, the order could be debated (Kirby's verticle column could switch places with StarFox's and it wouldn't make a difference. Same with DK, Metroid, and Zelda). However, Earthbound and F-Zero should stay to the far right to separate them from the SSB64 starters, and Pokemon can't be moved because its the only one that takes up and entire column. It could be moved to the right, but moving tot he left would split up the 3rd Parties.

Ton, you stole the line I was going to use to refer to the roster in general. Tongue
I agree in regards to that setup too, though.

I put them in that order because it is the order from which the original Smash characters went and the order they organize the series in trophies and such.

Mario, DK, Link, Samus, Yoshi, Kirby, Pikachu, Fox

Well, I'm not happy. But whatever. I'm going to try to make Roy into a decent fighter that harkens from his actual Fire Emblem appearance, rather than just some guy we created moves for to fill a status quo.

Also, fuck yeah Travis and Klona. Though I swear to god if we give Geno any Final Fantasy music, heads will fly. If we were going for an actual Final Fantasy rep, like say, Cecil from FFIV, then yes. Give him all the Final Fantasy shit. But please, let's keep Geno PURELY SMRPG.

EDIT: Koopaul god damn it, it's Mario, DK, Link, Samus, Yoshi, Kirby, FOX and THEN Pikachu. Star Fox was released in 1993, Pokemon was released in 1995. God damn it, this is not the first time you've done this.

Any music relating to Geno will be from SMRPG. Also, rage much?

Mmmmm... I don't feel right giving him the Wario Emblem, he's never been in a Wario game... But whatever... Go ahead.

It seems natural. He's secondary to Wario, he only exists because of Wario, and it would be weird to have one with the W and one with a mushroom.

Quick question: with the roster fully decided upon, is it appropriate to bring up topics like Adventure Mode and Bosses again now that we know what characters are being represented? I'm always teeming with ideas... not necessarily GOOD ones, but lots of ideas. xD

Seems like a good idea. It'd be better to bump existing topics though.

Now that the roster is finally set in stone, how about we start deciding who will be unlockable and who'll be available right off the bat?

Yes. *gets on it*

I couldn't decide if I wanted to have Ness or Lucas as the starter. What do you think?

It's cool, you don't have to feel right cause the rest of us do. It makes more sense this way, anyway.
