And I'm not saying the hat shouldn't be on, I was just saying that it's not necessarily needed for Kirby to use it as his hat

Basically, I just made the hat curve more, flipped the mouth (for some reason, it was bugging me), and added a little more shading to the head. And I know we said that we're not doing the eyes like they appear in Animal Crossing, I just wanted to see if I could get it to look right...

I like your #3 with head #1 at the bottom. Maybe we can flip the eyes the other way so he's looking more forward?

Like the edits what about color shirts like he could have the Tom Nook shirt like in the beginning of the game or some other shirt instead of plain white.
