That is not a pose suitable for an idle; hence, why he doesn't use it in the idle.

Just to clarify; that's more of an action pose, for use when an action is in preparation to be performed. Hence, why it wouldn't be suitable for an idle. It's too extreme of a pose to be used for long periods.

Actually that IS his idle. When he's standing still he's in that pose.

Doesn't matter, it's still too extreme to be used for long periods of time and is much better suited as the first frame of an attacking animation.

Whether or not it's his idle as an assist trophy is irrelevant, he's only going to be standing still for two or three seconds. It would be awkward to sprite and odd to look at to see him switch back to that pose and transition from that pose while he's moving.

Either way it's too extreme. And it's also from Mario Tennis, that's not that great of a reference for a fighting game, haha.

Technically that's also Wario's stance too! Look at the position Wario's legs are in.

Wario's anatomy is completely different, thus making him easier to do in a stance like that. Wario does not look as actiony at that angle as well, Waluigi looks like he's just about to jump off the ground and bop you one
