I could honestly care less about how soon a sequel is released from the first game
unless it sucks.
though tbh I don't see how it's like a DLC add-on, I mean sure i has a few improvements and shit from the 1st game but isn't the reason why it was released on a disc in the first place because it was at a new location with new characters?

because it's not like DLC can do that or anything

everything is completely different, the DLC would be as big as the original game.
DLC doesnt usually add 4 new characters, double the amount of special enemies, improved game physics, double the amount of maps.

it COULD be DLC
but nobody's going to download 5-10 fucking gigs of data that would be the same price, if not a little bit lower (in SSFIV's case) than the original game itself, when they could easily go into the store, buy the disc and save 2 days of downloading time

but the difference here is that L4D2 ISN'T cheaper. It's a full priced game for what's essentially a DLC overhaul, instead of the low (somewhere around 20 bucks) price that SSFIV is touting.

how would you differentiate between the two games. if l4d2 was DLC, it would completely change everything. what if i wanted to play the original game.

uh
DLC still leaves the original stuff
have you ever gotten Burnout Paradise DLC
you can choose whether to use the regular game or the DLC
I'd assume it'd be as simple as clicking "L4D1 campaigns" or "L4D1 characters".
Not only that, but it'd allow you to pick from 8 characters.

you're not taking in consideration the amount of time it takes to download 5 gigas of data. not even on a torrent it would take less than 2 days to do such thing. and on the internet, time always means money.

considering a large portion of people live off smaller plans like 2 or 10 gbs, thats alot.

well
except from the fact that the engine for L4D2 is kinda different from the engine in L4D
I'm pretty sure you can't shoot holes into zombies in L4D :/

saying l4d2 doesn't deserve to be a full sequel is like saying smb3 doesn't
