Megaman 10 confirmed
#91
Ah dammit. If Mega Man is still missing the Charge Shot and Slide in 10, then Proto Man probably will still take 2x damage in 10.

Dammit Inafune!

rob- oh i hope to god they do that

and i don't really miss the charge shot. it worked in mmx-z-zx but in classic it really just meant you had to pause to charge up all the time since your normal shots didn't do jack shit anymore

Actually, in classic MM games, I almost never use charged shots. A fully-charged shot's power is equal to three normal shots. BUT, in order to charge it, you have to hold B, and then wait one second +/- so that Megaman can BEGIN charging. And you have to wait more two seconds so that Megaman can charge it all up, and a halfway charged shot's power is STILL of one single shot. So, it's more or less useful to charge your buster before getting into a room, but once you release it and you still have enemies to deal with, shooting with your regular shots is much more useful.

I just hold a charge whenever I'm not shooting.

Quote:Megaman - Megaman X: Mega to X: The Cataclysm I think you know where I got this from and what I entails.
There was no "cataclysm", it's a totally illogical fan theory popularized by the Bob and George comic book, nothing more. Zero wasn't even completed by the time he was sealed away (see: X1, Power Fighters, X2) and Wily became distracted by the idea of moving his conciousness to cyberspace.
Quote:I mean he should... But why wasn't Light afraid of regular Mega Man when they are both capable of learning and developing and etc?

Eh I feel dumb.
Tomguyw as kind of wrong about this
basically

Mega Man was constrained by the 3 laws. Everything he did followed through on those. He was also much more "lifeless".
X, however, can choose to both disobey those laws but also feel; he can feel compassion and empathy.

No matter the circumstances, Mega Man could not disobey those things: at the end of 7, even if Wily or Bass had not stopped Mega Man he would not have been able to kill him.

in resume if he killed willy there wouldn't be any more excuses to make more megamans.

PS: no slide/chargeshot in mm10 is stupid.

No, no, Mega Man can feel and experience human emotions, and learn from experience. But he had those laws that restrained him, and even though he has emotions, his free will is restrained to a certain point. X, though, has unlimited free will because he's not programmed to do something unlike Mega, he doesn't have laws to restrain him.

i dont think its quite like that, otherwise x wouldn't have been such a big deal, just a better megaman without safeguards

It makes sense to me, which is why X is so completely against fighting and Mega Man just kinda does it.
Thanked by:
That's the thing, though; if the emotions are "programmed" in in such a manner than they are not truly "felt". The big deal about X was that he essentially had a human mind with an unlimited potential. He actually "felt" the emotions, he felt sadness and restraint in fighting. He could choose not to fight, and he could simultaneously choose to kill everyone.
A big deal was made in Day of Sigma about X's ability to feel compassion.

Which is why his name is X.

According to the official story, the X refers to the variable X.
When X asked Light why he named him that, Light said that the variable X has a limitless amount of possible numbers that it could be; thus he named X that because he has limitless potential.

Technically, X has the power to be the most powerful robot in existence.

powerful as in firepower?
Thanked by:
Powerful as in absorb fucking anything and do whatever
As in, X can literally do ANYTHING if he wants to.

he's a war machine with self awareness. he can't do shit without thinking it 5 times. and thats the problem, he often doesn't want to.

thats why zero/protoman exist.
Thanked by:
Protoman is just Megaman classic except more violent.
edit- But who cares about the story anyway
megaman is just like castlevania and metroid in that there's a long and convoluted story that nobody cares about and everyone plays it for the gameplay
