I had an idea that Link would have to use the Book of Secrets on one of the forms. Should that Idea go to the second form? Or the final? Oh, and that human form of him looks good.

That sprite, in all honesty, looks a bit bland. I mean, look at the other 2 bosses. THey are full of character and personality where as this guy looks kinda bland.
I mean, a guy with a cloak? A bit cliche isn't it?

Pretty much like how Onox turns into a giant dragon, but Veran turns into a fairy, a turtle, a bee, and a spider. To be honest, I do like the idea of him being like that, but if you have any ideas of how to make it less bland, go ahead and tell. (Not trying to sound mean here, but if I do, I didn't mean to.

Hmm, well, if you guys are dead set on making it a cloaked figure, there isn't much I can do. However, I've been mulling over a few ideas.
One of which was, instead of making it a human at the start (like Veran and Onox) who later become beasts, I was thinking it could be some sort of none human monster, that is able to speak, think, and act human, kinda like the Moblin King and what not. Only Idea I had so far was this though: (obviously not finished) That was from my original idea of a small smart guy who rides on a monster.

That's a good idea Chaoxys. Did you mean just making it a monster? Or a monster with the cloak on?

Well, if it's just a monster, then it could be cloaked at the beginning when you first see it, thus making the person playing the game assume it's nothing more than a person in a cloak, but later you find out the truth.

Yeah, that should work out. His name though, still needs a name...
Anton, maybe? I'm not very good at coming up with names.

I have a couple ideas.
Malum (latin for evil) Betrum (combination of 2 latin words that translates to "Dark Beast")

I like the later one, Betrum, better. What should his final form look like? I was thinking a sort of three-armed giant monster, controlling the three oracles with his hands. Kind of like Onox's final form, with some changes.
Wait, all three oracles? Shouldn't it play out like the other games where it would focus on the one oracle? It seems a bit odd to bring the other oracles in when they already have their own respective games.
Anyways, I haven't been keeping up with the story, but for his final form, what if Betrum had a page from the book that was about him, and he changes it to make him into a giant evil version of himself or something.

Actually, the only reason I was thinking on putting the other two oracles in the game was because I came up with the idea that, in order to add or erase something from the book, you would need either the power of two oracles, the power of Farore, or a portion of power from each. And about the page about Betrum, there would probably be a description of him somewhere in the book, so he could just change that. Either way, it doesn't really matter. Oh, and I'll update the progress for Betrum, right now it says name and appearance pending, so yeah, I'll change that.

Hmmmm..... Well now, heres an idea....
A loop hole. See, I like the idea that only the oracles can change it, but that limits what link can do, so what if there is a special pen type item (probably a feather pen), or possibly a special type of ink that can be used in it. This would allow Link OR Betrum to use it as needed without having to twist it too much from the flow of the original games. And heck, if it was different types of ink, then they could play in like songs. You could, for example, earn a special ink that when used in the book, will warp link somewhere. Otherwise Link could just write out Betrum from the start.

At this moment, I'm not sure as to which idea to use: Pen, Pages, or Hieroglyphs. Pen would probably be better, and like you said, would keep from going to off-track from the original games, so that would probably be the best bet.

Well, I was going off of the earlier idea that this guy is a thinker rather than a crazy woman or a huge guy with brute strength. I was trying to go for a sort of "criminal mastermind" look while keeping some spellcaster elements in it. In my head, I imagined that he'd be much more expressive through his words, seeing as he's a fast thinker. That's how I came up with the second form for the boss; he's tired of being beaten by link and finally snaps, and starts attacking in a blind rage. when that form's beaten, he then regains enough composure to summon all of his energy and transform into his final beast form. The pages, as said before, could be used to unlock the final area. The book itself translates the heiroglyphs that you find throughout the game. As for the pen, I'm sure we can find a creative use for it. :p |
