I've been asked this question alot. What I've been up to is quite alot of drawing; whether it's for school, some person, church, friend, company, whatever. All the other stuff I've been up to is personal and is too much to explain lol. I've been just enjoying life. Now then..onto the artwork!
Something that I've been working on. Can't say what it's for, I'll reveal it when it's done.

This is what I made to put onto christmas cards for my friends at school. I do it every year with a new drawing. It's like a tradition lol

I'll be posting more of my work later on.
Enjoy these two paintings for now!

Thank you all for the comments!
And yes, they are all acrylics. Most people use oil but I can't stand it.. It's way too messy and it gets everywhere.
Oh, and here's something I made last night. It's for a friend of mine that gave me candy and a santa hat lol. Oh and I do realised the "blue circle" looks a little off here and there but I wasn't able to work on it too delicately because I need to have it framed and given to her by the end of the day. I'm sure the frame will cover up my errors. I want it to look good for her. Hope yall enjoy it:

You sir
are very awesome with acrylics
HOWEVER.
That first drawing is kind of let down by the perspective. You've got the principles down, but it looks to me that you're kinda guessing how it works without using vanishing points. This is A Bad Idea.
It's obviously a bit late to fix now on that image, but keep it in mind for the future: vanishing points are awesome. You dont' need to rigidly structure everything around them, but make sure to keep them in mind when you're sketching. :>
Thank you guys for the wonderful comments yet again. I didn't think my paintings would get so much love.
I also feel honored that it inspired some of yall to try harder with yall's art and try out painting. I feel special.
Epistacxis: Thank you for your C+C. I did use a vanishing point on the first drawing. I even tried to get some help from my art teacher. As you pointed out, it didn't really turn out too well. Do you have any tips in mind to keeping everything in perspective within the vanishing point? I tried to align the table with it, but the table still came out looking off. Everything else seems fine to me, it's just the table that's really setting me off.
Btw, you are a good at critisism. I've seen some of your critisism on other people's artworks. Just letting you know that it's VERY helpful!

To be honest perspective isn't a strong point of mine, either.
Did you use the vanishing point in regards to the creatures, too? I think thats the main problem, they look to me like they're mostly standing on a different plane to the table.

Here's the book I've been looking at recently; it's kind of a "bare minimum" thing, but I find it's a lot more straightforward than a lot of books on perspective for the simple fact that it starts from the ground up. It does have an excercise for drawing figures in perspective, but it's a little light on detail with regards to drawing people of differing size while still retaining perspective. There's chapters previously which talk about varied sized objects in perspective, so you have to apply what you've learned in previous lessons rather than pick-and-choose excercises depending on what you need to do.
I've also had the following book recommended to me before, which I'm told is far more in-depth:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Art-Perspective-...815&sr=8-1
But I've not tried it yet, so I can't personally say much about it.

Thank you so much for those references. And well..I only used the vanishing point on the actual background. I wasn't sure on how to use it for the characters. I'll be sure to look out for those books, I looked a while back and they didn't have them. Might just get them from Amazon lol
Also, about the Louisiana painting..I just wanted to let you guys know that I did indeed win the contest. To be honest, I was surprised. I was very overwhelmed. You can check it here: http://georgerodriguefoundation.org/
I've never won an achievement like this in my life. The guy with the hugest smile ever on his face is me lol It helped get my name out and now I'm doing more commissions than ever before. It also impressed the college that I'm going to in the fall, McNeese, and I'm now one of their official artists.
Which leads me to this painting.
http://yfrog.com/euimg0777uj The writing center personally asked me to paint on one of their ceiling tiles. I'll describe the picture..at the bottom is me thinking and there will be a colorful smoke emerging from my head where some of my latest creations will come out. As well as some of my old ones remade(anyone remember Big Bella?) and three cameos of certain characters that I use to obsessively draw when I was young. : D It also gives out different meanings like: The rose is to show I like to paint flowers, the tiger is to show I like to paint wildlife, the dragon is to show I like to paint fantasy, etc. As for Mario, Kirby, and Wario..they're just to show that I'm a gamer haha.
And I know, this topic is old. But as long as I update, it's okay right? : P
