12 is mega crap and a disgrace to the series and shouldn't exist.

If by "mega crap" you mean the expansive gameplay, luxurious attention to detail, understated yet mature storyline and a seamless battle system - then yes, FFXII should be banished to the four corners of the world. FFXII is quite easily one of the best Final Fantasy titles of the past ten years.

It sounds like FFXIII suffers with the same problems as FFX, by that the majority of the game is an interactive movie with little substance and linear gameplay. In FFX, most of the game was spent running on invisible lines broken up by a wealth of cutscenes. In FFX's defence, its world had an immersing charm and there were several mini-games/sidequests available in the last half of the game. From what I've heard about FFXIII, there is a serious paucity in the way of mini-games, but I've heard the plot is gripping enough (and one would expect so given the investment).
