Vipershark sucks at spriting
#16
Waist needs to be thinner and so do her arms. She should also be a little taller, judging from the size of her head, it makes her look about 10, and not around 17: the age Mikuru should be. Proportions are off too. A good tip for body proportion is that a fully stretched leg should be the same length as the torso and the head together. Currently. her legs are far too short.
You're also using different angles for different areas of the sprite:
The feet are pointing directly forwards.
The head is tilted a tiny bit down.
The skirt is almost at a 45 degree angle to the screen.

If I were you, I'd go for a tiny bit downwards or a 45 degree angle rather than straight ahead. Directly forwards sprites are extremely difficult to do correctly, and almost always look horribly stiff.

I think you should redo it completely

sometimes, it's easier starting from scratch than fixing all the flaws.

Bumping this because I sprited something else.
Mikuru is on hold, I suppose.

This is a (mostly) custom Link.
I say that it's /mostly/ custom, because it actually started its life as an lttp edit.

Also included is a casual clothes/pajama Link, but the hair is pretty terrible and I'm not sure how to improve it.

C+C?

EDITSadremoved stupid text)
Link looks pretty good (taking into account he's lttp styled), the hair on PJ Link (as you've stated) looks incredibly flat on top, make his hair bigger/thicker?

PS: I'd try to give you more to work with but...right now, I feel like i'm about to vomit everywhere.Sick

i think you should re-do the hair, since it doesn't seem to convey anything clear to me.
i wasn't expecting this when i woke up this morning! Big Grin

well! you could look up a ref (i looked at some wind waker art): i noticed that the hair's movement went to the side, so i tried to translate that in my edit:

The problem is, Toon Link like hair just doesn't look good or work well on a such a small and restricted head such as Adult Link. It just makes him look more like Cloud.

not entire entirely sure on how the body is displayed. if i recall correctly, you want to imitate that topdown-ish perspective from the snes zelda.

the legs are what bother me the most. although i'm going to try an edit to see if i can find a better way to redo them

Just as a note: I'm not necessarily going for lttp style here, even though I began with an lttp edit.

I still obviously want the top-downish view that all of the 2D zelda games use, but it doesn't have to look like it could fit in the lttp universe. This is supposed to be (mostly) custom, after all.

but its not really about the style. the perspective somehow doesnt work as you draw it now. it feels link's body is bent at his waist.

would you mind doing an edit to steer me on the right path?
