I was wondering, what are we going to do about the shrinking and growing effects caused by the two Mushroom items? The options we have are pretty much these:
1. Higher-resolution versions of all character sprites
2. Resizing effect handled by the game engine
3. Ditch the Super and Poison Mushroom

I'm assuming we will be going with resizing.

Yeah that's what I thought, just wanted to make a thread so everyone can have their say.

Strangely, this was not the thread content I was expecting.
...I have no idea what I was expecting.

It would be too much to have high resolution for ALL characters and all poses, and it seems a waste to ditch them

so, youre suggesting a quick recolour, then they appear without shading then appear with it?
this is what you uploaded:

No, that was just an illustration of how to make hi-res sprites.

Oh. that makes sense now.
But if we did hi-res every pose for every character, that would take forever. Especially as you would need the poison mushroom too.

The normal graphics could easily be downscaled without looking too poor. It's the upscaling that would be the problem (or more like could have been, judging by the poll).

Mmm. I dont think anybody really desperately wants to have hi-res anyway
I honestly hadn't thought of this and I don't know why. It seems like a huge headache though. I'd be fine with just magnifying/shrinking them. It'd give it a pixelated look and wouldn't require us to triple our efforts.

It really will be more trouble than its worth redrawing them. Lets just keep it simple and stick with ingame resizing.

I agree with resizing them. It would take much more work to make re-sprite them over.

Either #2 or #3. I see no reason to resprite everything three times, disregarding possible stacking (e.g. Tiny Brawl + Poison Mushroom)
