from the perspective of a guy on the outside, pixelation looks cool if you want to learn to be an "artistic" spriter, sort of like how dex is

otherwise, it looks like it'll be boring as hell

it depends on what you mean as "artistic"; that term is incredibly expansive and there are different ways of being artistic, whether it be expression or accuracy or whatever the heck else

I mean stuff like this that's detailed as hell
nothing against dex; that's just the general vibe that I get from pixelation

not to mention that they use unsaturated colors WAY too much
and the forum's default theme is ugly and depressing

i mean the critique is usually great, but I've never really gotten that much critique there and somehow I seem to attract all of the bad critique

and almost every edit i've ever gotten save for a few on my recent OUTER RUINS background has been horrible
