I guess he's saying gtfo since this is a Nintendo Board. Might as well close it.

I've pretty much lost all my interest in the game after actually reading into how the gameplay pans out.
In other words, no world map? No Final Fantasy.
I'm just going to call this is bargain bin buy.
Tsunami Bomb - The Simple Truth
We could run away
Leave behind anything paper
Not knowing where we're going to stay
When there's no Mondays

You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
When I'm in your arms, I feel safe from harm and sorrow too
You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
But most of all, nothing couldn't be solved when I'm with you

I don't understand how a worldmap makes a game any better or worse. It's Square's series to do with as they wish, and they can subvert or play any tropes they see fit with an individual release.

for all big ff fans/fans of music:

the music is great, but the following are not included in the game:

Prelude
Main Theme
Victory Fanfare (it's different music this time)

That's cool, I'm not telling them they can't do what they want with it...
I just don't think it'll be good so I'm calling it a miss? I'm not saying they're fucking demons?

But I just think that since the removal of a world map, I've stopped enjoying the series. I found exploring the world map to be great, and getting from one place to another in various modes of transport and so on to be a brilliant feature to the games. Walking from one place to another just doesn't seem fun - linear, I suppose, as much as I hate to use the word like all other reviews.

I've just never enjoyed RPGs that don't have the feel of roaming a huge extensive world. With no world map I just feel closed into set pathways.

Same here. I obviously haven't played FFXIII, but the removal of towns and the world takes away from the game experience, if you ask me.

A bit off topic, but I feel the same way about Pokemon Colosseum.
You can move freely in the game's predefined areas, but you can't travel outside of them freely and have to navigate around a menu-based world.

I'd rather walk to wherever I'm going in an open world.

FFX is the king of linear RPGs. FFXIII can never top it.

Well, 1up gave the game an A- and said that it's the worst sequel in the world, but probably the best final fantasy.

Think of that what you will!

ff13 has no strategy in battles, all levels are a straight line with no side paths, no backtracking and all parties are preset and have 1 to 3 characters who dont grow much.

ffx has nothing on ffxiii

ff13 is a ripoff of 10 anyway in terms of leveling up

Besides, XIII isn't a sequel. It's just another chapter in the series.

The more I hear people talk about this game the on the net the less I want it. The more I hear the amount of my friends (who hav ebeen FF's and playing each of our copies over and over, over the years) I dunno what to beleive. I dunno if I should grab it or pass it...I passed on 10-13?

I passed on 3 FF's? How....? Who's is failing me? What is it I'm doing wrong?
