Wii remotes

You know, european games only works on european Wii's and american games only work on american Wii's (Atleast, so I've heard)
If this is true (which I think it is), can a european Wii remote work on a american Wii and vice versa?

I think it should work, My friend has a Wii Remote imported from Japan and it works on an American console.

I know about if you have Freeloader you can play imported games from overseas on your wii,
not sure about the remotes, should work though

NTSC and PAL console and tv and game types is the limitation

so basically make sure youve got the same kind
