He didn't derail the thread at all, what are you talking about? Totally unnecessary.
What makes a 'good' game?

"post why you hate nintendo so i can answer why you shouldn't" totally fits "what makes a good game".

If you have a good plot then yeah I'll play it but I'll play it even move if the villain has an amazing character and character development. oh man, this. this works for a story of any medium. an antagonist should be just as memorable (if not more) than the protagonist, imo.

so true...
RE3 is my one of my favorites after RE4 just because of this monster guy who chases you all over the game scaring the hell out of you

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World plays exactly like the original Tales of Symphonia (PS2/GC), except for the monster recruiting (more like Megaten and Persona mechanic than Pokemon). House of the Dead: Overkill isn't innovative. Not all game on Wii got innovative gameplay. In fact, most of non-Nintendo games you can use both a Wii-themed controls or classic controls, for example NiGHTs.
I'm not a Nintendo fan, but I'm not a Nintendo hater either. But don't talk to me about Mario or you'll bore me to death. Killing turtles with a chubby ass and eating mushrooms? Cute for a game released in the '80s. Thanked by: water dog,

Then it's a totally different thing altogether. Wii is not all about simple or casual games but it's the majority of the system because it's way cheaper to make games for the system (which means: easier to publish crap games). And Nintendo don't do only platformers (examples: Star Fox, Zelda).
So far, the only Nintendo franchise I like is Metroid, because it's not as simple as just butt-heading creatures, but you got to track back, get new weapons, and so forth. Nintendo just decided to aim at a different market (the casual gamers, the guys who never had a video-game before. You can buy a Wii at your local Wallmart), that's all. And it got way too much money with that. And now all the other companies are copying it. Soon I guess you're going to be out of games to play if you stick to "I don't like new gameplay" mentality :/
