honestly, this doesn't make a huge difference. the 'rock' looks flat and unrocklike, and then you just recoloured mario.

Trust me, no one has any use for recolours because they're so simple to do that if someone wanted them, they would do them for themselves.

CUSTOM is when you make a sprite without using a base; i.e it's 100% made by you

EDIT is when you grab an already-made sprite and modify it until it looks like something else

RECOLOR is when you just swap the colors without modifying the actual composition

so what you did there was a RECOLOR and a shitty EDIT. It's not a fucking custom, for god's sake

for the most part, this sheet is a recolour. There's one small part of it that contains a basic edit, therefor it's safe to say that this sheet is basically just a recolour.
