Some folks from smogon got 1st (maybe second) to like 7th in birmingham.

They also must have queued up there extremely goddamn early.

Because I got there an hour *before* signups were meant to take place, and we were told that they weren't taking more participants. They decided to let everybody queue in the rain for about 20 minutes before telling us this, too. They weren't holding an overflow tournament or giving any kind of real consolation for the time wasted, either.

I'm lucky because I have means to lower the price of my train tickets (and didn't really care about winning anyway, I PokeSAV'd my team); but I feel really bad for the people who came from the very edges of England, paid through the nose in travel fares, got there on time, and were essentially told to piss off because the admin weren't organised.

In the end me and my friends got bored, went to this fucking HUGE supermall in Birmingham city center, and had fun shopping instead of playing Pokeymans with 35 year olds.
