as in, it's the equivalent of the gbc -> gba change

Not on the 3DS.
And I can't play games that I don't own without a Slot-2 card, anyway.
Which I want to do. Play downloaded roms.

Too close to the DSi's design. It's unlikely Nintendo would make their next-gen portable look so much like their last gen one. They never really do that.

I might add that the Gomeboy Pocket looked like the GB and GBC. Also the GBA and GB look rather similar in themselfs too.

Because the DS Lite isn't capable of emulating GBA games from Slot 1, either.
