Keep doing what you're doing!
Not really, its great, but it can be better.
The trunk itself is rather flat looking as it isn't really shaded to be round, but more like its shaded to be detailed. I can see where Spolder is going with the branches possibly needing to be darker, but you should experiment with that option.

just because you suck that you're too overwhelmed to even properly observe it doesn't mean it is perfect

Here's some relevant reading material that can be found on the front page of the forum.
Quote:Universal Rules (1/2/09)
These rules are general rules that should be upheld in all areas of the forum, rather than just specific areas. These are most important to know.
1. Don't be dumb.
No pointless and stupid comments, do your best to type in full sentences and spell words properly, don't spam or advertise, etc. And yes, this is still the case if it's other people's topics and rep points.
2. Be friendly.
Don't just randomly flame other members, and be mean for no real reason or randomly accuse members of sprite theft and the like without evidence or a VERY good reason to do so.
5.1. Excessive Swearing isn't a good idea either.
There are no hard and fast rules about swearing (it is allowed, so there's no real need to self-censor); but if you start aiming those offensive words at another member; or just throw them out anywhere for no great reason; expect to be dealt with harshly. Hate speech is especially discouraged. Keep that kind of thing on the *Chans.

All three of the above posts are totally unnecessary. Technically all four, but whatever.
Let's get back on topic here. :|

Are you telling a mod the rules? My post was a friendly warning to stop while you're ahead.
Any single post after this that doesnt have to do with a pixelated tree will get a warn. This is a warning.

There is always always room for improvement. But thanks anyway.
Progress:
Note that its mostly just scribbles where lighting is supposed to be, I'm just refining it as I go. I started in the bottom left blob of leaves.

Some of the darker shades in the leaves seem scribbled on at random when compared to the lighter ones. I don't know which direction you intend to eventually take this (mildly realistic or very cartoony being two I can see it going), but I am enjoying the progress.

To me it all looks really nice, right now what's bothering me would be that the bottom left blob of leaves has to much lighting compared to rest of the leaves, maybe make it less or do what you did with the other leaves an scriblee the lighting where it should go.
I hope that helps you in some way.

Yeah, I was viewing and posting when you made that edit, and I was pretty sure you had future plans for it anyway.
