Custom Tileset
#16
Well its more than just more interesting. It gives it more depth, and I'm actually having an easier time spriting it because of that.

Now, with the personality, I think I see where my sheet is lacking. But its still sort of vague, so what should I do to liven it up? More interesting building structure? More variety in pathways and plantlife? Or is it even more specific than that?

Okay, so here's a newer clock tower with some example colors. And next to it is the line-art for the base building.

In case anyone was wondering how the two different angled buildings would go together, here's the doodle I've been working off of.

The clock tower still fits within your tileset, correct?

Yes, however there are a few things I can do to better economize tile space.

all the circular shapes on tha tower seem to be way off than they should be.

to be honest, i'd avoid any circular shape at all unless you actually know what you're doing, otherwise all you'll get are squished eggs. isometric circles are the greatest extremely distinguished gentlemen as far as i know because they are never right.

Oh don't even get me started, it took me FOREVER to even get these crappy isometric circles. I still need to work on bringing the curvature of the green cone roof things down a bit in the front, or up in the back. I do understand that this type of shape is infamously difficult, but I'd like to tackle it, if only for self improvement.

Well I suggest you turn an isometric square into a circle slowly rounding the corners off step by step until it looks right.

thats actually a terrible idea koopaul-saying this from experience- since you might as well do a circle step by step until it looks right. problem is that you never know when it "looks right"

although

i just forgot about this one.

also forgot you can try doing a circle who's width is 2 times longer than height, then tweak it by hand-

Okay, how does this look
[Image: ClockTowerNew.gif]

The longer I do this, the more tempted I feel to rotate this back to the front view. Is there hope for this view of the clocktower or should I scrap it and move on?
