I just downloaded cavestory so tried to make mario in cave story style.

if you're gonna make a cave story styled human
it would make sense to take the "skin" palette of a character who's actually human

no actually, i meant the skin palette of one of the human characters in cave story

you meet two of them fairly early on, if you just got the game you should have met them/should run into them pretty soon to get a reference of what it looks like

if not, i'm sure you can just find some sprites of one of the humans

or actually make sprites of humans following the sprites of humans and ditch the already over edited sprites of the same character everyone has already done more than once.
