thats exactly it though, i dont want to live life. theres nothing want from it. why? because "in the end it doesnt even matter" (~lincoln park, 2001). if there is no afterlife, only emptiness, then what was all the work you did during your life for? you wont ever remember it, it wont be a fond memory you can look back on, especially since living isnt a particularly enjoyable experience anyway. there is no point to the struggle that you justify by reaching goals or whatever the hell other goodies you think you get at the end of the road.

This is why I'm living a philosophy where I'm going to rock the absolute fuck out of this world with something ground-breaking and then be recorded in history as that guy who won a nobel prize or something for revolutionizing our civilization

I don't want much. I want to make things rather than take things. And if I become immortalized in our civilization's history books, then I've succeeded.

we all just came from sperm, we fought through millions of other sperm and we won, so now were out and living right now. when ya die, you are gone. so what are the chances you couldn't come back as a compeltely different sperm in some other creature and have a different life. See, the problem with that line of thinking (and why i would suck as a nihilist) is that I don't actually care how insignificant I am, and in my eyes, my friends and family are all extremely important, and seeing them happy is what makes life worth living.

I just know that I myself an not an important person, and my eventual vanishing will have no greater consequence. There's a difference between knowing your place and actually resenting it.

Oh, and I say 'grand scheme of things' as in a universal scale; not necessarily describing a higher power.
