the original american box art was so bad in so many levels it just became a gimmick on its own.
the later nod to said box art on 9 and 10 ironically just "try" to look bad, although the artist couldn't just "fuck i just cant do this, let me have some self respect capcom for fucks sake"
Why does this game feel more like a bad fangame than a legitimate Capcom title? :/
However, I kinda do like the premise of playing as Ryu, Arthur etc. Basically all that is is allowing the player to experience Megaman in non-conventional ways and with a level creator, that's just awesome...I'd assume like with Ryu, you'd go around and punch/kick enemies, like a beat 'em up and have an energy bar dedicated to performing specials that depletes when using them and replenishes when you land physical attacks. Now, tell me that wouldn't be kind of fun
What I wonder though is how Ryu would learn Robot Masters' attacks

But the only way this game will be a day one purchase is if this game's level editor will allow you to make a level where you destroy a car like in SF2 but with Megaman characters

So far it just looks like Megaman 2 in a Powered-Up concept of making it 3D graphics and adding a level editor. If that's all it's going to be plus a few playable non-Megaman franchise characters, I'm not that interested... However, if it was to, say, include levels that better represented the play style or motif of the non-Megaman characters, and do other things other than rehashing Megaman 2, that's the only way I'd be able to get into it.

If I had a reason to get this game it would only be if they add more then ryu and megaman.

oh, this makes this game sound like it could be better. If you don't wanna click basically it says more game types and all versons of Mega Man play slightly different. And apparently it's hinted that there'll be a big character roster.

That's actually what I'm hoping for (the first part at least); if all the non-megaman characters actually play substantially different from megaman like the characters in that game did, that'd be pretty neat.

I just had an idea for a Mega Man game: Mega Man vs SNK. Could be done by fans easily enough (NeoGeo Pocket sprite rips). The boss robots would be SNK characters and when Mega Man defeats them, he gets their Capcom-equivalent powers.
That actually sounds terrible. If they're going to do a crossover with SNK, it's going to be Capcom vs SNK 3.

You know, if this game has Vile in it, it'd be an instant buy for me. I am mortally wounded because of the fact that I don't want to hash up the money for a PSP, but it's the only official game with a playable Vile.

Makes me wonder if any of those other game types would be like compact battle network. It'll be dumb if they're just a bunch of minigames or something. Maybe even a crappy little fighter since Ryu's in it? Oh the possibilities and the room for disappointment
But I definitely see more capcom characters getting in, just who knows which ones (I'd count all the arcade machines shown in the trailer as getting representation)
