Cerberus wasn't so hard as the lock-on camera hates targeting large, mobile foes; so you can barely ever see shit coming. He has a lot of invincible frames, too.

Honestly the only ungodly hard fight in-plotline is that Fantasia demon/boss. Chernabog? Fighting something honestly difficul with flying controls does not make for a straightforward fight.

I believe you should cast Aero before he casts that magic remove spell thingy thing on you. That or it was an entirely different boss. Also, Glide.

Yeah, Kurt Zisa was a bitch.

But one protip, level up, and if you still can't succeed, dust yourself off and try again, and also try to synthesize as much as possible, preferably those attack up thingies.

Nah, Gary, you've got it right. Using Aero before he locks your magic is a good strategy.

I beat all 4 of the optional bosses without the Ultima Weapon, it makes me feel accomplished, haha.

Oh, and I loved the Chernabog fight, btw. Back in 6th grade when I was on my first playthrough I was like "oh my god it's the thing from FANTASIA that's awesome"

Oh, it LOOKED cool. And then he got moves that hit a wider AOE and for more damage as his health decreased, with less lagtime between each wave. I think what did me in was that when you died to him, you had to go through the ENTIRE slow, unskippable cutscene immediately before you fight him. Every fucking time. Ugh. The rest of the game (that is to say; the rest of the storyline: the postagame challenges were a LOT harder) after him was piss; and at the time I legitimately wondered if Chernabog was the final boss; and all of Ansem's shenanigans were post-game (I played and beat the other games before finishing KH1)

As much as it was awesome to see him I actually have yet to beat him.

I held off on trying to beat Cerberus until after I'd finished Tarzan's world.

The battle LVL of Deep Jungle is higher, but I felt like the boss was a bit easier to handle. Since the cure spell is your reward for beating him, you can recover from Cerberus' attacks much easier so long as you keep your Magic up enough to use the spell over and over.

The Spellbinder Keyblade legitimately broke the game for about 2/3 of the storyline, since you were actually able to cast spells wantonly; dealing far more damage on average and easily hitting blocking or airborne foes. Couple it with MP Rage, and you basically get a Cure whenever the fuck you liked.

And then the game starts throwing Seraph heartless at you which resist most magic, ABSORB Thunder damage, and occasionally split off a clone with FULL HEALTH if you leave it alone for too long. At that point Physical attack power kicked ass; but you can't change Keyblades mid-battle; so my first encounter with them dragged the fight out for a good 10 minutes.

I actually started in Deep Jungle because I was too much of a scrub to be able to MOVE the damn rock in the VERY FIRST ROOM. Or technically second room, but whatever.

You know what would be awesome? If they'd bundle all console Kingdom Hearts games (Kingdom Hearts I, Kingdom Hearts Re: Chains of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II) in one Blu-Ray for PS3 users and perhaps if Kingdom Hearts would come to another console then a port of these games.

By the way, not entirely my idea.

I would rather have a Gaiden game that has all playable characters so far, with each having a decent number of their ingame weaponry (even just giving everyone 5 or 6 weapons each would result in a shit-ton of possible character/equipment combinations). You play out various bits and pieces from the entire plotline, alongside a giant What If mode where you can be whatever character you want in whatever mission, with multiplayer.

Meaning you can do things like the Saix Vs. Sora fight in KH2 - but from Saix's point of view; then go to What If mode and beat up every Heartless Boss from KH1 as a Terra and Luxord team.

Considering KH: Coded and the Data battles from the Final Mix games exist; justifying this in-plotline wouldn't be too difficult either.

You mean like KH 358 / 2 Days or like Dissidia without the shitty controls?

Basically Days, yeah. But being able to play as *everyone*, and with setpieces from the games so far. Days was amazing (IMO) in terms how it did gameplay structure. While it still had plot and exposition, at its core was refined KH gameplay - with multiplayer to boot. I've heard that Birth By Sleep does the multiplayer even better - except you don't have the members of Org 13 to choose from.

Kind of like those Lego Star Wars games? Where in the main storyline you play snippets of the entire plot with the appropriate characters; and then you can do any stage with any character in Co-op. I'm not a fan of Star Wars, but that is some sexy gameplay design.

I've not played Dissida (no PSP, heh); so I only know how its combat system works. And even then only vaguely.
