yes
there are currently 4 enemy types (5 if you count slimes, but I've never seen them before)

they're all generally easy to kill once you know their AI (which is relatively simple) but the first time you see any of them you'll probably die

protip: never build houses out of wood unless you have a shitton backlogged and can easily rebuild it

otherwise it's not worth the cost, and that wood can be put to making sticks for torches and tools

in other words, your starting house should never be made out of wood
dirt doesn't look as good, but it works just fine.
