Now that I think about it, this game could be nifty if:

You run through stages all super speedy like usualy, but also while smacking the crap out of enemies with that spiffy looking sword, only to go right back into running.

I dunno, staying neutral here rather than whining about something new.

But yeah I believe that Sonic is turning into Link, Sonic has been sailing, turning into Werewolf, now he is sword fighting.

I'm here to say at least 3 things, if anything more comes to mind when I'm writing this stuff down, then it will be more

1. I seriously think this could be a bad ass game, seriously, Sonic with a sword seems to be pretty cool

2. you guys who are already complaining about how much this will suck are all idiots, you haven't even seen any SCREEN SHOTS of this game, and you're already flaming it? what the hell is wrong with you?

3. Sonic is NOT turning into Link, the Werewolf transformation thing was already done LONG before Twilight Princess, and if you're also saying he's turning into Link because of a freaking SWORD?! are you shiting me?! so I guess other games that unclude swords like Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Soul Calibur, are all copying Link from Legend of Zelda? gimme a break

4. I'm not gonna take anything anybody has already said on this thread as proof against my statements except for the actual Nintendo Power cover itself

If it isn't, I hope Unleashed does well enough to make up for this inevitable failure.

Sega would have been smarter to release another Golden Axe game (or modify Beast Rider) with this concept.

As Kotaku most sarcastically said "This game will bring much needed swordplay to the Sonic series".
And christ "Rocker" you may, MAY be able to defend Unleashed (I'm guessing it hits the 70% mark on most review sites) but THIS? Why the fuck put Sonic in this? Why not bring back Wonder Boy or something.

The sword is longer than Sonic is, probably heavier than Sonic is, and Sonic is still holding up the apparantly weightless sword with his tiny rubber arms. Sheesh, I honestly feel like everybody dropped the ball there. The artist, the game designer, the person who green-lit this.... Sega.... fuck.

Least I've got Sonic 1-3 to enjoy.
