dissecting this sentence
TESTEZ is obviously a cognate with 'TEST', experiment. VOTRE must be 'your'; also cognate with Portuguese 'VOCÊ', which means 'YOU' FORCE is a cognate and it means power POUSSEZ must be a cognate with 'PUSH' and Portuguese 'PRESSIONE'. I find it funny that French has a lot of cognates with Portuguese (only, the way you pronounce the words in French is totally different from the Portuguese way of pronouncing it. For example, we'd read POUSSEZ roughly as 'pauls-ace') Thanked by: Chris2Balls [:B], Maxpphire

french has a lot of cognates with portuguese because portuguese is (in a way) an offshoot of spanish
spanish and french are nearly identical in a lot of ways, and since portuguese is so close to spanish it makes sense that it would share a lot of things (also I think that's an arm wrestling flash game)

you and gors are both right, at least it looks similar on paper, but i wouldn't go as saying nearly identical... you only realise how close the languages are once you understand both languages. i was pleasantly surprised when talking to a spanish-speaking person as to how i could find so many cognates once i made the translation, and i haven't learnt spanish.
it's also why more people choose spanish over german in france! oh and pressure in french is "pression"

The one Spanish phrase I will remember is "Yo como tu ventanas bonitas" And yes, it isn't supposed to make sense.

You are not exerting your with your test into the push like, there's literally no way for that joke to work at all, even if you fuck with sentence structure you can't make it sound like it has anything to do with fucking get laid Thanked by: Chris2Balls [:B], Sonikku
